Sir Neville Marriner will be the oldest conductor to lead at the Proms

When Sir Neville Marriner steps out onto the stage of the Albert Hall this weekend he will become the oldest conductor to lead at the Proms.

The 90-year-old began his musical career as a violinist before founding his own orchestra, The Academy of St Martin in The Fields, and taking up the baton.

The BBC's Arts Editor Will Gompertz went along to rehearsals to speak to the most recorded British conductor and talk to him about how he has no plans to stop performing.
