Rona Fairhead named as new chairwoman of BBC Trust
Rona Fairhead, the former head of the Financial Times Group, has been chosen as the new chairwoman of the BBC Trust.
She will replace Lord Patten who stepped down from the job in May.
Mrs Fairhead, 53, said she was "excited" to have the chance to lead the BBC, and was "under no illusions about the significance and the enormity of the job".
The BBC Trust is the body in charge of overseeing the BBC.
