Shakespeare's Hamlet gets a Bollywood makeover
William Shakespeare may have written his plays more than 500 years ago but his works are still one of the best choices for filmmakers across the world - not least in India.
This month sees the release of Haider, based on the Bard's tragedy Hamlet.
The film is director Vishal Bhardwaj's third Shakespearean outing following Maqbool and Omkara - based on Macbeth and Othello - which received critical acclaim.
Set in Kashmir, Haider follows the tragic tale with a Bollywood undertone to reach out to the masses.
