Hollywood honours Matthew McConaughey

Actor Matthew McConaughey was honoured by the American Cinematique on Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old collected the award for his work on The Dallas Buyers Club as well as his role in True Detective.

McConaughey won best actor Oscar earlier this year for his portrayal of an HIV sufferer in Dallas Buyers Club.

Fellow colleagues and friends Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Chastain told reporters they could not think of a better recipient for the award. McConaughey himself said he felt very "grateful".
