Sting musical The Last Ship opens on Broadway

British pop star Sting has made his debut as a Broadway composer and lyricist in a musical called The Last Ship.

The musical is set in his hometown of Wallsend in the north east of England; it is not an autobiography but bears some resemblance to his life.

The production has been one of the more eagerly awaited shows of the current New York theatre season, as Tom Brook reports.
