Wilton returns to West End in Taken At Midnight

Penelope Wilton has returned to the West End for the first time in five years, starring in Mark Hayhurst's production of Taken At Midnight.

Wilton plays the mother of a German Jewish lawyer Hans Litten, who put Hitler on the witness stand in 1931. A few years later, Litten was put into a concentration camp.

Talking to the BBC's Andrew Marr, she described Litten's mother as someone who believed in democracy and free speech. "She felt she should fight for her son... take them on."

Taken At Midnight runs at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 15 January until 14 March 2015.

UK viewers can watch the Andrew Marr Show in full for 30 days.
