Cannes Film Festival opens with 'gritty' drama

The Cannes Film Festival has got underway with a screening of Standing Tall - a gritty French social drama starring Catherine Deneuve.

The decision to give the opening night slot to Standing Tall is seen as an attempt by the festival to redefine itself away from glamour to more socially concerned cinema. Talking Movies' Tom Brook reports.
