Documentary highlights dangers faced by a Muslim drag queen

When Asif Quraishi came out as gay and began to perform as a drag queen it caused tensions in his family and brought death threats against him and his parents.

Homosexuality is one of the last taboos for the British Asian community. But it is a subject tackled by Asif head-on in a new documentary for Channel 4.

Asif told BBC Breakfast about the problems he faced coming out and how he is hoping to help others who face the same difficulties.

Muslim Drag Queens is on Channel 4 on Monday 24 August at 22:00 BST.
