Rise and fall of the Black Panthers

Next year the American radical political organisation the Black Panther Party will mark its 50th anniversary.

This week sees the release of a film which chronicles the rise and fall of the Panthers - a movement which many think still has political relevance given that it was founded at a time when there was growing concern in the black community over police violence.

US police shooting of unarmed black people remains topical and has been making headlines throughout the year. Talking Movies' Tom Brook reports.
