Oscars 2016: Mark Rylance nominated for Bridge of Spies role

Mark Rylance has been nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in Stephen Spielberg's Cold War drama Bridge of Spies.

The film, which has also been nominated for best picture, tells the story of American lawyer James B Donovan (Tom Hanks), who is recruited to defend the arrested Soviet spy Rudolf Abe (Rylance).

Speaking to the BBC's Ben Brown, Mark Rylance gave his reaction to the nomination, and explained why he believed the film appealed to a modern audience.
