Alice Zawadzki sings with a nightingale
A series of "Nightingale duets" will feature on BBC Radio 3 this month, as part of the station's commitment to "slow radio", giving listeners the chance to pause and reflect.
Overseen by folk song collector Sam Lee (pictured above, left), the new compositions were recorded deep in the Sussex countryside, with musicians responding to the bird's melodic song.
Violinist and singer Alice Zawadzki (above, right) is among the artists featured, creating a haunting and magical song as her contribution to the project.
The series will be broadcast on Late Junction and World on 3, starting on 10 May.
