Subverting the selfie: New York artist's bizarre portraits
If you love taking seriously flattering selfies, look away now.
David Henry Brown Jr, an artist based in New York City, says the punk ethic in his bizarre self-portraits mocks "the representation of every cliché, trope and stereotype on Instagram".
His highly original, sometimes disturbing, "anti-selfies" are attracting lots of likes from his social media followers, who are no doubt fascinated by his use of ripped magazines, discarded toys, fast food and women's wigs, amongst other items.
