What we learned at the Mercury Awards launch

David Bowie, Laura Mvula, The 1975 and Bat For Lashes have all been nominated for the 2016 Mercury Music Prize.

The shortlist, which recognises the best British albums of the last 12 months, also sees recognition for two grime artists: Kano and Skepta, whose albums have been called a "signpost" for the future of the genre.

BBC Music reporter Mark Savage spoke to the nominees about what it's like to be up for the award, and how they plan to celebrate.
