Should Mills and Boon be taken seriously as feminist texts?

Val Derbyshire from Sheffield University argues that some of the Mills and Boon books should be taken seriously as feminist texts.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's World at One, Ms Derbyshire said there was much more to the books than "escapist romance", describing them as a "literary of protest".
