Skepta: I’ll do 'something positive' with Mercury Prize win

Grime star Skepta has beaten the likes of David Bowie, Radiohead and The 1975 to win the Mercury Prize.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Skepta said the £25,000 prize money will be used to “do something positive” for disadvantaged children.

He said: "We're doing a project right now, building a studio in my old estate to help the young kids do music."

Skepta's victory meant bookmakers' favourite David Bowie missed out after receiving a posthumous nomination for his swansong album, Blackstar.
