Sir Tom Courtenay reads Larkin's First Sight
At Westminster Abbey, Philip Larkin has been given a place alongside great figures from English literature such as Chaucer, Dickens, Thomas Hardy and George Eliot.
A memorial stone to him is being unveiled in Poets' Corner, 31 years after his death. Sir Tom Courtenay played Philip Larkin in a one-man show he devised in 2002. He described on the Today programme how funny and clever the poet was.
