'Dexter dressed very scruffily, like a schoolteacher’

Inspector Morse author Colin Dexter has died aged 86.

Dexter was best known for writing the novels about the cerebral, crossword-loving, ale-drinking detective and its two spin-offs, Lewis and Endeavour.

Lawrence Fox had a starring role in Lewis as DS James Hathaway and tells the Today programme that everything slowed down when Colin was on set.
