David Oyelowo: Diversity matters because of my son

Actor David Oyelowo has said one of the reasons he is so "adamant about diversity" in the British film industry and how we "move the conversation forward" is because of his oldest son.

When he told him about being in a new Disney film, his son immediately asked if he was going to be playing the best friend.

Oyelowo said that this response showed his son was "being fed something that suggests that someone like me belongs on the periphery when it comes to story telling".
