How autism diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome helped one man

A brain scan that detects autism in adults could mean much more straightforward diagnosis of the condition, scientists say.

Experts at King's College London said the test identified tiny but crucial signs of autism, only detectable by computer. Current methods of diagnosis can be lengthy and expensive.

Nicholas Joy, who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome in 2008, describes the length of time it took to get a diagnosis and what it meant for his health and treatment.
