Organ transplants hit record high but 'more to be done'

A record 3,706 organ transplants took place in the UK last year, but the director of Organ Donation and Transplantation at NHS Blood and Transplant has said there is more that can be done to boost transplant numbers.

Speaking to the BBC, Sally Johnson said it was important to get more people to join the organ donor register, and to make sure hospitals do all they can to ensure viable organs do not go to waste.
