Shadow health spokesman John Healey says cuts damaging health

Government spending cuts will do "more damage" than the good that a new role for councils in public health will play, according to Labour.

The shadow health secretary John Healey welcomed the inclusion of public health directors in local government as part of a drive to encourage healthier lifestyles, but said that the move was outweighed by other "damaging" policies.
