Pandemic flu jabs released to ease shortage
GPs across England are reporting a surge in requests for the flu vaccine and in some areas their stocks have run out.
David Cameron has intervened and the government is releasing drugs ordered for the 2009 pandemic - even though they would not protect against all strains of the current outbreak.
Northern Ireland has seen a huge leap in flu cases though the picture elsewhere is more stable. Another 11 people have died in the last week across the UK.
