Review recommends big changes to NHS shake up plans

Plans to reform the NHS in England have left staff, patients and the public with deep seated concerns.

That was the finding of a group of experts who have carried out a two month consultation over the government's radical and much criticised proposals.

The NHS Future Forum, set up by the government, warns that plans for greater competition within the health service must not be introduced at the expense of patient care and suggests that the changes be brought in more gradually.

But the forum accepted that the NHS has to change if it is to meet future challenges.
