'My foot was amputated after problems with my diabetes'

A NHS National Diabetes Audit estimates more than 1.3 million diabetes patients across Britain may be missing out on vital annual health tests, meaning related health conditions exacerbated by diabetes are going unchecked.

Will Hogan and Bob Locke have both had amputations due to complications with their diabetes and they speak about the need for diabetes patients to undergo regular health checks to prevent people suffering the same consequences.

Diabetes is a condition in which the body has trouble regulating blood sugar levels and can lead to blindness, kidney failure, heart disease and gangrene, which can lead to amputation
