Health campaigners welcome minimum pricing for drinks

The government has announced plans for a minimum price of 40p per unit of alcohol in England and Wales in an effort to stamp out binge drinking.

This follows years of campaigning and lobbying by doctors and health charities.

The plan has also been backed by NICE - the body which advises the government on best NHS practice.

Branwen Jeffreys reports.
