Drug-sniffing dog hired to help NHS trust in London

Paddy is a rare breed: a narcotics search dog in the NHS.

A former Metropolitan Police service dog, Paddy started his professional life pursuing drug criminals.

Now he works across a number of hospitals in the South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, to bring down drug use on their wards and so reduce incidents of drug related violence against staff.

BBC News went to see Paddy in action and meet his handler, Julie Traynor, and the head of nursing practice for the trust, Chris O'Connor, to find out if he has had a positive impact at the trust.
