Royal pregnancy: 'I was sick like pregnant Kate'

A pregnant Duchess of Cambridge is beginning a second day in hospital for treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum, which causes severe nausea and vomiting.

The duchess, who is thought to be under 12 weeks pregnant, is expected to remain at King Edward VII hospital in central London for several days.

Mother Elly Hargreave also suffered from severe sickness in pregnancy.

She told BBC Breakfast it must be "extremely hard" for the duchess to go through such a condition in the public eye.

She added: "For Kate the joy of pregnancy is being tainted by a terrible condition."
