Alicia Douvall: 'Plastic surgeons are like car salesmen'

Beauticians without medical training should not be allowed to give non-surgical treatments like Botox, according to the Royal College of Surgeons.

They are also calling on a ban on so-called 'Botox parties' with only trained doctors, nurses and dentists allowed to provide similar cosmetic treatments.

Model and TV personality Alicia Douvall, who has had many cosmetic procedures, said she had been left disappointed by her operations.

Consultant plastic surgeon and tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons, Anthony Armstrong, who was not involved in Ms Douvall's procedures, said surgeons should act ethically in the best interests of patients.
