Botox: Beauticians should not be able to carry out injections

A ban on beauticians without medical training carrying out non-surgical cosmetic treatments like Botox has been called for by the Royal College of Surgeons.

They claim only properly trained doctors, dentists and nurses should be allowed to carry out cosmetic procedures.

Consultant plastic surgeon, Jonathan Staiano, whose practice carries out cosmetic procedures, said cost should not be the main factor when consumers decide where to have procedures carried out.
