Pakistan teenager Malala Yousafzai to get plate in skull

Surgeons are to operate on the skull of the Pakistani teenager, Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban for promoting girls' education.

The surgery will be carried out at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham where Malala will be fitted with a specially moulded titanium plate.

Her medical team has described her recovery as a testament to her strength and desire to get better.
