Lewisham A&E downgrade announced

A south London hospital will have its A&E downgraded to an "urgent care" ward and its maternity unit replaced with midwife-led facilities, Jeremy Hunt has confirmed.

The hospital at Lewisham must make the cuts to help tackle debts of £150m at the neighbouring South London Healthcare NHS Trust, which is losing £1m a week.
