Hospital faces baby death claims
The BBC has learned that more than 30 families have taken legal action against a hospital in north-west England, blaming poor care and medical negligence for a catalogue of baby and maternal deaths and injuries.
Furness General Hospital at Morecambe Bay in Cumbria is at the centre of the scandal which is now the subject of a number of investigations including a police inquiry.
Parents also allege that important reports were suppressed in the run up to the local NHS trust achieving foundation trust status in March 2010.
