A&E proposals to improve outcomes, says NHS chief

The medical director of NHS England has proposed a two-tier system of Accident and Emergency departments - with only certain units equipped to deal with strokes and serious heart attacks.

Professor Sir Bruce Keogh says the existing system is struggling to cope with increasing numbers of patients and that the proposals are about getting people the best treatment.
