Ambulances 'face long delays at A&E', BBC figures reveal

Some patients taken by ambulance to NHS hospitals in England, Scotland and Wales face waiting in them outside A&E departments for much longer than the recommended 15 minutes, figures show.

In the worst case, a patient in Wales was delayed for more than six hours, data released to the BBC under the Freedom of Information Act suggested.

Branwen Jeffreys reports.
