Mental health: Patient's six month wait after suicide bid

Mental health should been given the same priority as physical health, according to a plan that is being unveiled by the government.

The action plan identifies 25 areas where improvements are needed, including shorter waiting times and giving patients the ability to choose where they receive treatment.

Melanie Denyer, who suffers from borderline personality disorder, said she waited for more than six months to get treatment after a suicide attempt.
