Heart boy death: 'Lessons will be learned'

A children's hospital where a four-year-old boy died after heart surgery "lost opportunities", an inquest has concluded.

However coroner Maria Voisin said Bristol Children's Hospital did not fail Sean Turner with its basic care.

Speaking afterwards, Robert Woolley, from University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, said the hospital trust wanted to offer sincere apologies to Sean's parents, "for the additional distress we have caused [them] in relation to Sean's death".

He said the hospital had since made significant changes.
