Vulnerable denied care as budgets cut, says Age UK

At least 800,000 elderly people in England are not receiving enough support to carry out simple day-to-day tasks like getting out of bed, according to Age UK.

It blamed the squeeze on funding, which had forced councils to reduce budgets by 15% in real terms over the past three years to £6.6bn.

Michael Buchanan reports.
