First womb-transplant baby born

A woman in Sweden has become the first in the world to have a baby boy after having a womb transplant.

The 36-year-old, who was born without a uterus, gave birth by caesarean section last month after receiving a womb donated by a friend.

Her son, named Vincent, was born prematurely in September weighing 1.8kg (3.9lb) and was described by his father as "the most amazing baby".

A British medical team is planning the first womb transplants in the UK next year.

Richard Lister reports.
