Owen Paterson: Renewable energy 'won't keep lights on'

Former Environment Secretary Owen Paterson has said the government's energy policy won't "keep the lights on" in Britain.

He claimed Europe's renewable energy policy was misguided and would not be able to keep up with demand.

Mr Paterson said more nuclear power stations were needed to meet future energy needs.
