Figures suggest four out of five UK nurses are foreign

Four out of five nurses hired by NHS hospitals in England last year were from overseas, according to figures obtained by the Health Service Journal.

The Department of Health has said foreign nurses have always made a valuable contribution to the NHS and individual trusts are responsible for planning and recruiting their workforce.
