NHS: Cameron and Efford on NHS private members' bill

A Labour MP raised his voice as he called on the government to back his private members' bill on the NHS to "put right some of the mistakes" by the coalition over health policies.

Clive Efford claimed there had "never have so many people been united against the government" about a bill, and he said the NHS should not be for sale "not now, now ever".

David Cameron said a Labour government had been behind "sweetheart deals", adding the proportion of work by independent providers was 5% under Labour, and was now "just 6%", with 2,500 more nurses and 8,000 extra doctors today.
