Addenbrooke's Hospital declares 'major incident'

Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge has declared a major incident as it struggles to cope with demand at its Accident and Emergency department.

Labour has called on the government to hold an urgent summit on how to alleviate pressure on A&E services in England.

Shadow health secretary Andy Burnham said the situation demanded co-ordinated action.
