Child marriage in Ivory Coast

Child brides are more likely to contract HIV, be victims of domestic violence and die during childbirth, but one third of girls in the developing world are married before the age of 18.

A recent court case in Ivory Coast aimed to address this issue - a father has been jailed for trying to arrange marriage for his 11-year-old daughter.
