Bangladesh project to prevent toddlers drowning

Every year nearly 400,000 people lose their lives to drowning, making it one of the world's most common causes of accidental death.

The vast majority occur in low and middle-income countries, with children being most at risk.

In Bangladesh, a staggering 45% of deaths in under-fives are due to drowning.

So now a new project is giving out 80,000 playpens to try to keep them safe at the water's edge.

Akbar Hossain reports.
