Cuts in doctor training 'could harm patients'

The British Medical Association (BMA) has criticised plans drawn up by an independent review to shorten the length of medical training for doctors across the UK.

The BMA says patients' lives could be put at risk by the proposed changes.

The Department of Health says no decisions will be made which are not in the best interests of patients.
