New fund provides £19m to support adopted children

A new fund is being introduced in England to provide support to families who have adopted children.

It is intended to recognise the lasting impact of the emotional trauma that some children suffer after being removed from their birth family.

There have been concerns among some with experience of adoption that the £19m fund will not be sufficient.
