Warning that adult social care 'under stress and strain'

New figures show more than 150 new cases of abuse against the frail and elderly are being reported to England's social care watchdog every day.

Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care Andrea Sutcliffe told the Observer cuts in funding and a lack of political leadership were putting the system under stress.
