New guidance on menopause treatment
England's health watchdog says women and doctors have "lost confidence" in hormone replacement therapy or HRT as a possible treatment for the menopause.
NICE says the number of women taking HRT has dropped dramatically since a major study linked it to an increased risk of cancer a decade ago.
The report also says that specialist services should be in place for women under the age of 40 who begin premature menopause.
Victoria Derbyshire discussed the issue with Dr Melanie Davies, a consultant gynaecologist at University College London Hospital who worked on the new guidelines and three women who have gone through the menopause - Nia Fisher, Sujata Barot and Diane Danzebrink.
