Raluca Vinson's son Alexander was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in July 2015 and, at just two years of age, the toddler underwent proton beam therapy.

The Lancet medical journal has suggested this new treatment may be as effective as conventional radiotherapy but with fewer side-effects.

Alexander's mother spoke to 5 live Breakfast about his treatment and current condition.
