Miscarriage: 'It's like someone has pressed pause on your life'

More than 200,000 miscarriages happen in the UK every year and while the devastating effect is immediately clear, what causes so many of them, is still not known.

It is hoped that will change with the opening of the UK's first national research centre dedicated to understanding miscarriage.

The centre is funded by Tommy's baby charity, in partnership with the University of Birmingham, University of Warwick and Imperial College London.
